Welcome to the home of Rappahannock Area YMCA racing. We help each individual strive for health and fitness in spirit, mind and body. Our programs are designed for fun, and recognize the varying needs and abilities of all participants to help them reach their full potential.

INDOOR TRIATHLON SERIES
Here are the dates for in Winter Indoor Triathlon Series:
January 23rd at 8:00 AM at the King George YMCA

You can choose between a sprint distance (750 meter swim/12 mile bie/5K run) or an olympic distance (1500 meter swi/24 mile bike/10k run)...or any combination of the two! The swim will be in the pool. The bike will be in the gym (so bring your trainer). The run will be outside (so dress accordingly)! Refreshments and snacks will be served afterwards.
Space is limited so be sure to RSVP to Debi Bernardes. Cost is $15 for members and $20 for non-members (so bring your friends)! And your mileage counts towards the National Club Challenge!
Thurston Companies - John Robbins Organ Donor 8k - 3.07.10
Brief history: John Robbins was the first president of the Fredericksburg Area Running Club (FARC), and was a liver transplant recipient. He was the first liver transplant recipient (post surgery) to run a marathon (his first), and his driving force within the running community helped to make FARC a highly successful club. Please celebrate his life, and those of other by choosing to donate.
Civitans 5k and Youth 1 Mile - 5.31.10
The YMCA Civitans 5k is run along a scenic course, and the proceeds go to the Civitans Club. New this year is our Kids 1 Mile Event. The Civitans is a national organization that aids special needs adults and children. Come support this cause by running (or walking) in this year's event.
Races start and finish at the Fredericksburg City Library on Caroline Street.

Colonial Beach Sprint and Olympic Distance Triathlons - 7.10.10 and 7.11.10
Come this July we will be celebrating 26 years of the longest held triathlon in the state of Virginia (Olympic Distance). We will also be offering the sprint distance triathlon for those who are new to the sport, or would like a shorter venue to race.
These events are held at scenic Colonial Beach where the course is FAST and FUN!

Friends of Micah - Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 5k - 11.25.2010
The 17th Annual Turkey Trot has grown from 200 runners to over 2000 participants making this one of the favorite events of the year. Come celebrate with the YMCA and support the Friends of Micah in their endeavor to assist with the Homeless of the area.
Coker Orthodontics - Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 1 Mile for Kids - 11.25.2010
This is a great event for those who are 12 and Under who find the 5k a bit too much for them. With over 500 kids participating this past year we look forward to growing it to include an 800 meter dash for the 5 and Unders!
